Understanding the roles within the BHPC committee

To meet the developing needs of our wonderful club the committee would like to fill the following roles at the 2025 AGM.
The first three (President, Treasurer and Secretary) are required by the club’s constitution and without them the club would not exist.
The next 5 core roles are vital for the smooth running and progress of the club. The final three are special roles that would help oversee specific projects that will help the club meet the challenges that 2026 and beyond will bring.

Executive Roles

President

Providing leadership, oversight and guidance to the elected committee and club members as well as being the figure head of the club.

Treasurer

Managing the flow of money into the club and for allocating and recording how that money is spent in the running of the club.

Secretary

Providing administrative support to the president and committee as well as coordinating, announcing and minuting club meetings – committee meetings, EGMs and the club AGM.

Core Roles

Membership Secretary

Taking responsibility for managing the annual renewal process for all members and dealing with all new membership enquiries/applications. Maintenance of an up-to-date database of current and paid-up members is critical to the club’s operation.

Competitions Secretary

Being responsible for organising the clubs’ competitions schedule and resolving conflicts with the regional and national calendar, as well as ensuring the smooth running of competitions either themselves or by delegation.

Clubhouse Manager

Managing and ordering essential supplies and consumables for the club house and overseeing the cleaning rotor.

Social Secretary

Scheduling and organising the club social events for the year and bringing together a team of people to enable the delivery of events that allow our growing and diverse membership to come together, socialise and celebrate.

Communication Secretary

Producing the club’s newsletter, making sure the website information is up to date and promoting the club through social media.

Special Projects

Maintenance

In light of BHPC taking responsibility for repair of the terrain following the local council’s decision that it can no longer fund them, it would be ideal for someone to liaise with contractors and oversee the scheduling of the work and any work required in the club house.

Fundraising

If terrain repairs are funded solely from club membership it is estimated it would take 3-4 years to raise the funds, therefore we feel it would be a priority for someone to explore ways to raise the funds more quickly through internal donations, crowd funding, grants, sponsorship etc.

Logo Implementation

If the new club logo design is adopted at the AGM it will need to be implemented across all aspects of the club: website, club kit, flags, signage and stationery etc. Someone from a design background to oversee this would be ideal.
